The Introduction of Jianguo Public Foundation:

Public welfare is a noble course symbolizing the progress in social civilization. It is also an act of benevolence and should be regarded as the obligation of the human being.

Qu Jianguo, a well-know entrepreneur who donated 10 million RMB, sponsored Shanghai Jianguo Public Foundation. The foundation was a nongovernmental public welfare organization approved by the People's Bank of China and registered in Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau.

Founded in 1993, with the support of people in all fields, the foundation has established and financed more than 100 public welfare facilities. It supports 300 lonely old people for life, finances a thousand children to school, and established two "hope schools" in backward areas of China. The foundation has participated actively in various public welfare activities held by Shanghai Charity Foundation and helped Chinese painters go abroad to sketch. At present, capital fund of Shanghai Jianguo Public Foundation has reached nearly 100 million RMB.
